As the official “Voice” of Travel North, Tim Nixon comes to us with an extensive background inradio, television, print journalism and voice-over work. Among his many accomplishments, Tim has worked for premier stations in major markets including Detroit, Chicago, Grand Rapids and Tampa, Florida; and hosted two syndicated radio shows over the course of his successful career. Still active in Northern Michigan’s radio scene, Tim is one of Northern Michigan's top morning personalities, heard daily on Lite96 and 106KHQ, as well as afternoons on FOXY101.com.

A native of Traverse City, Tim recently moved back to Northern Michigan where he says “he now lives where he loves to live”. He adds that “internet and modern technology allow people to live where they choose and still be ‘plugged-in’”; one reason his podcast and production work is vital to keeping Travel North current with the latest events and happenings throughout Northern Michigan.

Tim is the father of three grown children, of whom he is extremely proud. In his spare time, he enjoys fresh water, sunsets, snow skiing, motorcycling, Ballroom and Latin dancing, and developing a new business he fondly calls “Party in a Package”...an all-inclusive event planning service. Digital photographer Lisa Lirones has lived in Northern Michigan for 27 years. Inspired by wildlife and the natural beauty that surrounds her, Lisa's images depict her true love of Northern Michigan. Her greatest rewards come from knowing she has been able to capture that special moment in time, a fond memory or something meaningful to her growing audience.

"If I forget my camera, it feels like leaving behind my purse, or worse", Lisa notes. "I need photography like others need fresh air, exercise or a good book. God has given me a gift that I enjoy sharing with others, and it is through his eyes and my viewfinder that I can reproduce precisely what I see", she adds.

Lisa is a college-educated art teacher who has made the transition to full-time photography. In addition to her extensive photo contributions to the Travel North website, she offers affordable photographyin nature-inspired and unique settings for senior graduations, portraits, weddings, special events and much more.
