Reasons to celebrate year-round.
Michigan
north of the 45th parallel is a most special place. Festivals and
Special events celebrate the rich diversity of the people and the
tapestry of the region twelve months a year.
From a French Canadian Christmas, to the most challenging Snowmobile
Hillclimb east of the Rockies in Lake Linden, or the National Cherry
Festival in Traverse City dating back to 1925, many events up here are
truly special.
Festivals
bring to life cultures and traditions like the Annual Spirit of the
Harvest Powwow in Houghton, the Bellaire Harvest Festival or the
chainsaw carving, axe throwing and wood chopping events at the Great
Lakes Timber Show in Iosco.
Throughout
the year, weekend events throughout the region highlight and celebrate
the communities, the love of local wines, arts and crafts and fine
food. And The Bliss Fest marks a quarter of a century
celebrating traditional and innovative music and dance. So you see,
each weekend is filled with events, many of them outdoors and free.
